Super Typhoon "Champi" has slightly intensified as it approached the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday, October 19.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said "Champi" is expected to enter PAR on Tuesday morning or early afternoon.
So far, it is moving west northwestward at 15 kph.
Once inside PAR, the super typhoon will be given the domestic name "Rosal" and may further intensify while it moves over the Philippine Sea.
PAGASA said wind signals may be raised over the northern and eastern portions of Northern Luzon and portions of Bicol Region as early as tomorrow morning.
Gusty conditions in most parts of Luzon and Visayas and some in Mindanao, PAGASA said, are likely to begin on Wednesday.
A gale warning for very rough seas will be issued tomorrow evening or on Wednesday morning.
