Super Typhoon "Bavi" is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility between tomorrow evening and early Wednesday morning.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said "Bavi"-- which will be named "Inday" once it enters PAR -- is so far located 2,215 km east of Southeastern Luzon.
It is moving west northwestward near Northern Mariana Islands at 20 km/h, packing maximum sustained winds of 205 km/h near the center and with a gustiness of up to 250 km/h.
While the tropical cyclone is over the Philippine Sea, PAGASA said it will move generally northwestward towards Ryukyu Islands.
It is expected to maintain its strength once it enters PAR, with
wind signals to be raised possibly over the northern and eastern portions of Northern Luzon on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
"Gradual weakening is expected as it moves near Extreme Northern Luzon while approaching the east of Taiwan," PAGASA said.
