A 6.4-magnitude earthquake hit Davao Occidental on Thursday, October 8.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake -- an aftershock of the 6.5-magnitude and 7.8-magnitude earthquakes that jolted Davao Occidental and Sarangani, respectively, in June -- hit at 4:07 p.m.
PHIVOLCS said its epicenter was 42 km southwest of Balut Island.

No damage to property was reported but aftershocks were expected.
