Under questioning from Senator-judge Risa Hontiveros, defense lawyer Atty. Justin Gular argued that the questionable names on the ARs were "aliases" rather than fictitious payees.
A clash broke out between prosecution lawyer Atty. Mae Divinagracia and defense lead counsel Atty. Sheila Sison over the defense's position and explanation regarding the identities listed on the confidential fund documents.
