Cyprus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Constantinos Kombos will visit the Philippines on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
The Department of Foreign Affairs said this is the first visit of a Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Philippines.
The DFA said DFA Secretary Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro and Minister Kombos will hold a bilateral meeting to discuss Philippines -Cyprus political and economic cooperation.
Topics include maritime engagement, people-to-people exchanges and consular issues, as well as regional and global developments of mutual interest.
A Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of sports and a MOU on the Recognition of Certificates Issued Under the Provisions of the International Convention on the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers are expected to be signed after the meeting.
Cyprus hosts more than 8,000 Filipinos.
