Tropical Storm "Surigae" has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the tropical cyclone entered PAR at 7 am.
It has been assigned the domestic name "Queenie."
So far, the center of "Queenie" is located 1310 km east of Northern Luzon.
It is packing maximum sustained winds of 70 kph near the center and has a gustiness of up to 90 kph.
While no tropical cyclone wind signals are raised, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over Batanes and Babuyan Islands from Saturday.
The periphery and trough of "Queenie" will also bring gale-force gusts over Batanes, Babuyan Islands and Ilocos Norte.
PAGASA said the tropical cyclone will continue to move west northwestward until Friday before turning north northeastward by Monday.
