Chinese President Xi Jinping will make a state visit to the United States from September 23 to 25 at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump, China’s Foreign Ministry announced Monday.
Xi and Trump are expected to hold talks on major issues involving U.S.-China relations as well as global peace and development. Beijing said it hopes the visit will strengthen dialogue and cooperation while helping the two countries manage their differences.
The trip follows Trump’s visit to Beijing earlier this year, with the two leaders preparing to meet again amid ongoing discussions over trade and other geopolitical issues.
