The Metro Rail Transit-3 is offering free rides every Wednesday throughout the month of August and on Sept. 26.
The MRT-3 management said the free rides next month -- an initiative by the MRT-3 and the Philippine Statistics Authority -- is in celebration of the signing of Republic Act No. 11055 or the Philippine Identification System Act.
The free rides can be availed of on Aug. 5, 12, 19 and 26, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Commuters who wish to benefit from the initiative just need to show their National ID (physical card, digital ID, or printed ePhilID), the MRT-3 said.
The free rides offered on Sept. 26, meanwhile, are to celebrate Global Identity Day.
"Dagdag pa riyan, patuloy dinang pagsasagawa ng PSA ng National ID Registration sa MRT-3 Araneta-Cubao at Taft Avenue stations," MRT-3 management said.
