Born Park Jimin on October 13, 1995, in Geumjeong District, Busan, South Korea, he discovered his passion for dance at an early age. He studied modern dance at Busan High School of Arts, where he ranked among the top students in the department. Recognizing his exceptional talent, one of his teachers encouraged him to audition for Big Hit Entertainment, a decision that would ultimately change the course of his life.
After successfully passing the company's audition in 2012, Jimin moved to Seoul and transferred to Korean Arts High School, where he balanced his education with the demanding life of a trainee before graduating in 2014.
