During Day 37 of the impeachment trial, the prosecution formally moved to withdraw the bribery charge against Vice President Sara Duterte, opting to shift the primary focus to allegations of unexplained wealth. Financial audit expert Alexander Cabrera took the witness stand and presented a forensic analysis indicating that the Vice President and her spouse, Atty. Manases Carpio, allegedly accumulated ₱817.87 million in undeclared assets and income between 2022 and 2025. Cabrera asserted that her Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) filings for those years were inaccurate, pointing to major understatement of corporate revenues and significant undeclared inflows linked to family-associated businesses like GenCorp. In response, defense counsel Kristine Ferrer presented tax documents and a Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) letter of authority, while questioning the timing and scope of the prosecution's financial assessments.
