Face-to-face government work and classes in public and private schools in some areas on Tuesday, September 1, are suspended in anticipation of the heavy rains caused by the southwest monsoon.
Alternative work arrangements and learning modes will be implemented in the following areas instead, the Palace said in Memorandum Circular No. 133:
Ilocos Norte
Ilocos Sur
La Union
Pangasinan
Abra
Benguet
Kalinga
Mountain Province
Apayao
Batanes
Nueva Vizcaya
Zambales
Tarlac
Pampanga
Bataan
Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall, however, continue their operations and render the necessary services.
A localized suspension of government work and classes may also be implemented by local chief executives in areas not covered by the memorandum "pursuant to relevant rules, laws and regulations."
"The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management," the Palace said.
