MANILA, Philippines — A new defense agreement between the Philippines and Japan is now in effect, allowing their armed forces to more easily provide supplies and services to each other during approved military activities.
The Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement (ACSA) provides a framework for logistical support between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Japan Self-Defense Forces.
The agreement is expected to make joint military exercises and other activities between the two countries more efficient. It can also support cooperation during humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations, further strengthening the growing defense partnership between Manila and Tokyo.
