Kanlaon emitted ash on Sunday, Aug. 23, creating a plume that rose 150 meters above the summit crater.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said apart from the 5:28 p.m. event, four other ash emissions were reported at the volcano, which remains under alert level 2.
Two volcanic earthquakes were also recorded.
PHIVOLCS said entry into the four-kilometer radius Permanent Danger Zone should remain prohibited.
The ban on the aircraft flying close to the volcano should also be retained, PHIVOLCS said.
