A lightning strike damaged a catenary wire near LRT-2 Antipolo Station on Tuesday afternoon, September 22, disrupting train operations along the line.
The Light Rail Transit Authority initially implemented a shortened service as repair teams worked on the damaged power line. In a later update, LRT-2 trains were operating only between Recto and Santolan stations, and vice versa, while service remained affected on the eastern end of the line.
Passengers are advised to check the latest LRT-2 advisory before traveling as restoration work remains ongoing.
