Residents in flood-hit areas of Bangkok went to wholesale markets on Sunday, September 27, to buy food and other basic supplies as floodwaters began to recede.
Some residents used boats and carts to travel through flooded streets, while others walked through the water carrying their groceries. Buses and other vehicles were also seen passing through flooded roads.
Authorities said the lower rainfall allowed them to speed up efforts to drain the floodwaters. However, several areas remained flooded, and residents were urged to stay alert as more rain could still affect the city.
Thousands of residents have been moved to temporary shelters while authorities continue to drain flooded areas and provide assistance to affected communities.
