Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis launched dozens of missiles and drones at a Saudi military airbase in Khamis Mushait, wounding 13 civilians, according to the Saudi-led coalition.
The attacks came as the Houthis expanded their control along Yemen’s Red Sea coast, prompting intensified Saudi and Yemeni airstrikes.
The escalation is raising concerns over global oil supplies after Saudi Arabia’s east-west pipeline was knocked offline.
The route is especially important because it bypasses the Strait of Hormuz, which remains largely blocked.
Traders said a prolonged pipeline shutdown could disrupt as much as 4% of global oil supply.
Diplomatic efforts also suffered a setback after Oman postponed talks between Iran and Gulf states aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz, increasing fears that the regional conflict could spread further.
