A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Sunday, Aug. 16.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake that hit at 6:09 a.m. was an aftershock of the 7.8-magnitude Sarangani and 6.5-magnitude Davao Occidental earthquakes in June.
Its epicenter was 114 km southeast of Balut Island.
The depth of focus was 10 km.
No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.
