Tinutulan ng kampo ni Vice President Sara Duterte ang hiling ng prosecution na ipa-subpoena ang kaniyang bank, tax, at Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) records.
Ayon kay Atty. Michael Poa, maituturing na valid ang subpoena kung ito ay mayroong "definiteness and relevance".
“When a subpoena becomes oppressive, unreasonable, merely issued for the very purpose that there is a hope something incriminating will come out—it ceases to be an instrument of justice. It becomes a weapon of fishing expedition,” dagdag pa ng depensa.
