Severe flooding across Thailand has killed at least eight people and affected around 1.8 million residents since September 16.
Authorities said 28 provinces, including Bangkok, remained affected as of September 28, with widespread flooding reported across central, northern, eastern and northeastern regions.
Bangkok’s flood situation has improved in central areas, but serious flooding continues in some outlying districts and could take two to three weeks to fully recede.
The government declared September 28 and 29 public holidays in Bangkok and three nearby provinces, while forecasters warned that heavy to torrential rain could continue in parts of the country.
