MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Energy (DOE) has intensified inspections of fuel stations across the country after some retailers reported limited diesel supplies ahead of the latest fuel price adjustment.
The agency said the inspections aim to ensure fuel availability, verify compliance with approved pump prices, and deter hoarding and other prohibited practices.
DOE Oil Industry Management Bureau Director Rino Abad said monitoring teams are checking fuel inventories, pump prices, and sales records at gasoline stations to confirm that retailers are following government regulations. The DOE also assured the public that it is closely coordinating with oil companies to address localized supply issues and maintain a steady distribution of fuel nationwide.
