Hindi uurong ang kampo ni Vice President Sara Duterte matapos ibasura ng Office of the City Prosecutor ng Taguig ang una niyang perjury complaint laban kay Ramil Madriaga.

Ayon sa legal counsel at spokesperson ni Duterte na si Atty. Salvador Paolo Panelo Jr., political umano ang naging desisyon ng prosecutor sa pagbasura ng reklamo dahil sa “lack of prima facie evidence with reasonable certainty of conviction.”

Giit ni Panelo, mahigit 300 pahina ng ebidensya ang isinumite nila, kabilang ang kaniyang sworn testimony, pitong corroborating witnesses, official documents, government certifications, at iba pang records.

Sinabi rin ni Panelo na naglalaman umano ang mga ebidensya ng mga patunay na kumukuwestiyon sa kredibilidad ni Madriaga at nagpapakitang sinadya nitong magsinungaling under oath.

“The dismissal therefore says less about Madriaga’s credibility than about the willingness of those in power to ignore law and evidence when convenient, and to weaponize both against dissenting voices.”

“The Vice President will not be deterred. She will exhaust all available legal remedies against the dismissal and will pursue the pending second perjury complaint against Madriaga, whatever the odds.”

Sa kabila ng dismissal, sinabi ng kampo ni Duterte na gagamitin nito ang lahat ng legal remedies at itutuloy ang nakabinbing ikalawang perjury complaint laban kay Madriaga.
