The yellow alert hoisted over the Visayas grid has been lifted.
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines said the alert -- which is issued when the operating margin is not enough to meet the transmission grid's contingency requirement -- is no longer in place as of 10:59 p.m.
Available capacity is now at 2290 MW while peak demand is at 2000 MW.
Earlier, the NGCP said a yellow alert was in effect over the grid from 2 pm to 4 pm and 9 pm to 10 pm.
The factors that contributed to the raising of the alert were the unavailability of Visayas' largest plants and the "temporary unavailability of power import" from Luzon.
This last one, the NGCP said, was due to the emergency shutdown of the Tabango-Kananga 230KV Line 2 for emergency repairs.
