The Palace has announced alternative work arrangements for government offices in select areas on Thursday, Aug. 20.
In Memorandum Circular No. 131 signed by Acting Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, the Palace said learning continuity measures and alternative learning modes in public and private schools will also be implemented in the following areas, unless otherwise directed by their respective local chief executives:
the National Capital Region
Abra
Benguet
Ilocos Norte
Ilocos Sur
La Union
Pangasinan
Bataan
Bulacan
Nueva Ecija
Pampanga
Tarlac
Zambales
Batangas
Cavite
Laguna
Rizal
Occidental Mindoro
The Palace said agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness, response to disaster and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services "shall continue their operations and render the necessary services."
The cancellation or suspension of in-person classes and government work may also be implemented in other areas by their respective local chief executives, "pursuant to relevant laws, rules and regulations," the Palace said.
The suspension of work or the implementation of alternative work arrangements in the private sector, meanwhile, shall be left to the discretion of management, it added.
