A 4.5-magnitude earthquake hit Davao Occidental on Saturday, Aug. 1.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake -- an aftershock of the 7.8-magnitude offshore Sarangani and 6.5-magnitude Davao Occidental tremors in June -- hit at 10:42 a.m.
Its epicenter was 42 km southwest of Balut Island.
The depth of focus was 34 km.
