"Queenie" maintained its strength on Saturday, Sept. 26, as it decelerated while over the Philippine Sea.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the center of the severe tropical storm was estimated 575 km east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.
It is packing maximum sustained winds of 110 kph near the center and has a gustiness of up to 135 kph.
It is moving west northwestward at 10 kph.
While no wind signal is currently hoisted, PAGASA said up to moderate seas are expected over the northern seaboard of Batanes.
The weather bureau said "Queenie" will continue decelerating while moving north northwestward in the next 12 hours.
It is expected to turn north northeastward by tomorrow morning and will exit PAR between tomorrow afternoon and evening.
