"Queenie" has intensified into a severe tropical storm.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the center of the tropical cyclone was so far located 645 km east of Basco, Batanes.
It is packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and has a gustiness of up to 115 kph.
It is moving northwestward at 25 kph.
PAGASA said "Queenie" is expected to continue moving northwestward in the next 12 hours.
While no tropical cyclone wind signal has been raised, PAGASA advised the the public to continue monitoring weather updates.
"Queenie" is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility between Sunday afternoon and evening.
