A North Korean military delegation has departed for Beijing to participate in the Xiangshan Forum, China’s annual international security conference, North Korean state media reported Wednesday, September 16.
The delegation, led by Vice Defence Minister Kim Kang Il, left Pyongyang on Tuesday and was seen off by North Korean and Chinese defence and military officials, according to footage released by state news agency KCNA.
Reuters said it could not independently verify the video.
Hundreds of military officers, diplomats and scholars from dozens of countries are expected to attend the three-day forum in Beijing.
China’s military leadership is also expected to outline its global security priorities during the 13th edition of the conference.
