Tropical cyclone wind signals remain hoisted over parts of Luzon as Tropical Storm "Maymay" accelerated and moved closer to the Ilocos area on Wednesday night.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the following areas are under Signal No. 2:

PAGASA said the center of "Maymay" is so far estimated over the coastal waters of Magsingal, Ilocos Sur.
The tropical cyclone is packing maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center and has a gustiness of up to 90 km/h.
"Maymay" is moving eastward at 20 km/h.
According to the weather bureau, the southwest monsoon and the periphery of "Maymay" will bring strong to gale-force gusts most of the country today until Friday.
A gale warning is in effect over the western seaboard of Northern Luzon.
"Maymay" is forecast to remain as a tropical storm until it makes landfall in the vicinity of Ilocos Sur or Ilocos Norte.
