In-person classes on Friday, August 14, have been suspended in some areas due to the rains brought by the southwest monsoon.
The following areas are covered by the suspension:
Benguet
Atok: Pre-school to senior high school (public and private schools)
Buguias: Pre-school to elementary
Pampanga
Candaba: all levels in public and private schools; alternative modes of learning to be implemented
Guagua: all levels in public and private schools
Masantol: all levels in public and private schools
Sto. Tomas: all levels in public and private schools
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the southwest monsoon continues to affect Luzon.
It is also monitoring a low pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
