Nine Overseas Filipino Workers who had been stranded for months in Lebanon amid the Middle Eastern conflict have arrived in the Philippines, the Department of Migrant Workers said on Monday, July 13.
The DMW said they were just awaiting the confirmation of the flight repatriation details for 11 more seafarers.
The department said the nine OFWs, who are crew members of M/V Hawk III, arrived via Emirates EK 332 after being stranded since October 2025 in the Middle Eastern country.
Their vessel, the DMW said, had been detained and were unable to leave as the security situation worsened in the region.
The DMW said the nine Filipinos were greeted by representatives from the DMW, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and their agency upon their arrival in the Philippines.
It said they would receive "post-arrival assistance" and other services that will help them recover from their ordeal.
