President Bongbong Marcos on Monday, July 27, called for the "immediate amendment" of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA) of 2001.
In making the call, the President noted the country's high electricity rates.
He said "it is high time" for the systems loss and the value added tax being charged to consumers to be removed.
The President said "it is not the consumer's fault" there has been a system loss.
"We demand for the immediate amendment of the EPIRA," he said.
