The low pressure area east of Visayas has developed into a tropical depression.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the tropical cyclone is so far located 1,265 km east of Eastern Visayas and may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility tonight or tomorrow morning.
Once inside, it will be named "Josie."
PAGASA said the tropical cyclone will continue moving west northwestward in the next 12 hours.
While inside PAR, it will move generally northward then turn north northeastward until it exits PAR by Wednesday.
"This weather disturbance may intensify into Tropical Storm within the next 12 hours, and will steadily weaken afterwards due to unfavorable environmental conditions," PAGASA said.
It advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned to "continue monitoring for updates related to this tropical cyclone."
