Commuters can avail of free rides for select routes on Wednesday, Aug. 19, the Department of Transportation announced.
According to the DOTr, the free rides for the following routes are being offered by the government from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. to help commuters amid the bad weather:
1. Quiapo to Fairview
2. Quiapo to Welcome Rotonda (stand-by along España)
3. Divisoria to Cubao (via Recto/Nagtahan)
4. Divisoria to Monumento
5. Baclaran to Monumento (via Taft)
6. Kalentong to Pasig
7. Marikina to Cubao
8. Lawton to Sucat
9. Lawton to PITX
10. Pasig Palengke to Cainta Junction
11. Monumento to PITX (Busway)
The DOTr said 27 government vehicles will be plying the 11 routes across Metro Manila.
"Alinsunod ito sa utos ng Pangulo na tiyaking may masasakyan ang mga pasahero lalo’t may ilang lugar pa sa Metro Manila ang binabaha dahil sa patuloy na pag-ulan," the DOTr said.
