MANILA, Philippines — July 15, 2026 — The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) on Wednesday confirmed that Sen. Rodante Marcoleta is now under its custody after being transferred to the Quezon City Jail–Male Dormitory at 10:49 a.m. The transfer came following a commitment order issued by the Sandiganbayan in relation to the senator's pending cases.
BJMP spokesperson Jsupt. Jayrex Bustinera said Marcoleta will be subject to the same policies, rules, and procedures imposed on all Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). The bureau also emphasized that no special privileges or preferential treatment will be extended to the senator during his detention.
