The yellow alert declared to be in effect over the Mindanao grid starting 1 p.m. this Friday, Aug. 14, no longer holds, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines said.
The NGCP retracted the alert -- which is declared when the operating margin is insufficient to meet the transmission grid's contingency requirement -- as of 1 p.m.
Available capacity is at 2,985 MW while peak demand is at 2,568 MW.
The NGCP earlier announced the yellow alert would be in effect from 1 p.m. to 4 p m. and from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
It said the factors that contributed to the declaration were the GNPK 2 maintenance outage on July 28 and the emergency shutdown of GNPK 1 due to a boiler tube leak on August 9.
Thirteen plants were also on forced outage in August, seven have been since July, one plant since June, two plants since January, one plant since 2025, and two plants since 2024 .
Eight plants, meanwhile, the NGCP said, were running on derated capacities, for a total of 661.4 MW unavailable to the grid.
