Malacañang has ordered the implementation on Tuesday, Aug. 11, of alternative learning modes for public and private schools in three provinces "unless otherwise directed" by their respective local government units.
Acting Executive Secretary Ralph Recto said in Memorandum Circular No. 124 that work-from-home arrangements will also be implemented in Zambales, Bataan and Occidental Mindoro on the same day in anticipation of the continued heavy rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon and upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
Malacañang said the suspension of classes and/or work in government offices in other areas may also be implemented by their respective local chief executives "pursuant to relevant laws, rules and regulations."
The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements for private companies, Malacañang said, is "left to the discretion of their respective heads."
