Eruptive activity began on June 26 from a vent around 3,030 metres above sea level, causing a lava flow to move downhill, accompanied by volcanic tremors.
The Italian Department of Civil Protection issued a yellow alert, which is a precautionary measure to strengthen monitoring systems and mitigate risks at high altitudes, especially given the possible presence of hikers.
