EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey — K-pop supergroup BTS took center stage during the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final halftime show on Sunday, July 19, performing their global hit "Dynamite" before thousands of fans at New York New Jersey Stadium. Their appearance marked a historic moment as FIFA introduced a Super Bowl-style halftime entertainment for the championship match.
BTS, dressed in coordinated black-and-red outfits, joined an international lineup of performers that included Madonna, Justin Bieber, Shakira, Burna Boy, and Coldplay. Madonna opened the show with "Music," followed by BTS's high-energy performance. Justin Bieber later performed an acoustic rendition of "Everything Hallelujah," while Shakira and Burna Boy sang "Dai Dai," the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, before Coldplay closed the show with the other headline performers.
The musical performances ran for about 11 minutes, while the overall halftime break lasted approximately 27 minutes to allow crews to set up and dismantle the stage. The extended interval drew attention ahead of the final, as it exceeded football's traditional 15-minute halftime break and marked FIFA's first use of an expanded halftime entertainment format.
